Overall, the art gives a very cohesive interpretation, and when you move onto a new chapter and a new artist, the style never changes so much it will jar you out of the story. Вот ссылка would the graveyard book collectors edition free download their chapter 3 stars, while I would award Jill Thompson’s art 4 stars.
But the rest get a solid 5 stars, with the incomparable P. How I wish he had done the complete graphic novel himself, but alas Anyway, a beautiful graphic adaptation of an already wonderful children’s novel, that really makes the story come alive.
I really enjoyed reading about this first volume of the Graveyard Book adaptation. I thought it was really well done, and I enjoyed the artwork quite a bit. The format of the book is nice – it’s smaller than a typical trade paperback, and has a nice hard cover with a satin finish jacket. One consequence of splitting the adaptation into two volumes is that the two books have different feel in terms of plot.
In this first volume, there are several different chapters, each of which is a the graveyard book collectors edition free download “adventure” that teaches Bod valuable lessons, which he then applies in later situations.
The second volume, by contrast, forms more of a single cohesive story line that resolves many of the unanswered questions from the first volume. The plot structure of the first volume actually confused me at first, as partway through I started wondering whether this нажмите чтобы прочитать больше more of a collection of stories or meant to be a single novel.
Overall though The graveyard book collectors edition free download really started to enjoy Bod’s adventures, and getting to know the different characters from the graveyard and their histories was fun. Others have mentioned that the beginning of the book depicts a pretty violent scene. While I don’t mind violence I felt that that particular scene was very inconsistent with what is otherwise a fairly kid-friendly book.
Themes of death and killing are present throughout the book, but nowhere else is it depicted so vividly. Okay, its a children’s, young reader book. Okay so I’m 72 and I liked it a lot. Well, a good story is a good story, and this one sets out some solidly interesting, even challenging ideas and grows them. Well worth the time. I’m looking forward to Volume 2.
